After years of trying to start our family and getting approved to adopt, we were contacted through email by a wonderful couple that were expecting a little baby boy in a little over a month. We were so excited and after awhile we got to meet Breanna and Spencer. We were all nerves, but the meeting went great. The next day we got an email saying, 'We've spent all day trying to think of ways to "announce" to you that, out of all of the couples we've seen, we believe you to be the best for our child, and came to the conclusion that one sentence would probably do the job just as well as anything. Congratulations mom and dad :)'. Tears started flowing immediately! We had thought and prayed for this day for so long that it seemed surreal.
Over the next month we spent time with Breanna and Spencer and our friendship grew. When we talked about a name for this little guy, they asked us that we have his middle name be Jay after a great grandpa and we loved it. A little over a month later we were at the hospital awaiting the arrival of the little man that brought us together.
I remember seeing him for the first time, my heart skipped a beat with so many emotions! We have an open adoption with mama Breanna and papa Spencer. We are so thankful for the relationship we have with them. Since they live in the same state we get to see them on holidays, special occasions, or just a fun visit. Our lives were changed forever when this little man came into our lives, and it definitely changed for the better. This little man is so amazing and I love seeing traits of both his birth parents in him.
