2013 Review

We had an amazing year!
January
We started off the year with a bang at our friends New Years Eve party.  We spent a lot of time with family.  A surprise party for grandma Sue was so much fun.  We had a couple of dinner dates with great grandma Alice and another with Grandpa Ed.  We had a fun movie day at our friends house and did a lot of playing at our own house building forts and making huts.
February
This month was full of love! We went to the zoo while it was still pretty cold outside, but it was still so much fun.  We made valentines and delivered them to our family and friends.  A super bowl party at our aunt and uncle's house was a fun get together. We went to the library quiet a few times to get out of the house and enjoy some good reading.  Another highlight was skyping with mama Ashley and Derek.
March
March was so full with St. Patrick's Day and Easter.  We visited the Aviary to see all of the interesting types of birds.  Mommy went to Moab with grandpa Evan, something she has wanted to do for years.  While she was away Daddy took us to Disney on Ice.
April
April fools day was a fun day to make silly things like pretending we had extra eyes.  We did a lot of things with friends and family.  Going over to our friend, Tim's house for the first time was a big highlight.  The Natural History Museum was fun to all go to.  A new bike trailer was purchased and we went on a couple of rides and walks in it.  We absolutely love cooking, so we are always making cookies at our house.  Wheeler's Farm is also a fun place to get out to in the spring time because of all the cute babies being born. We made a Disney countdown and got so excited for our upcoming trip.
May
Disneyland was a highlight of the month! Alex's birth mama, Ashley and her boyfriend Derek were able to fly out from Ohio to go with us. What a special vacation!  We spent a lot of time with our friends this month going to their houses and playing at The Children's Museum.  Visiting and cleaning our family's graves was something else that was special to do as a family.  Mommy made us some marble racers that we can't get enough playing time with.  We also went to Planet Play before it closed.
June
June was another month full of fun and adventure.  We were always on the go.  We went to our first baseball game, West fest, the Hogle Zoo, and This Is the Place Monument. Some of those places we went just as our family and some we went with grandma and our cousins.  We loved being outside and went hiking and fishing a couple of times during the month.  Playing in our pool outside was one of our favorite lazy day activities.  We were lucky and had a visit from both of DJ's birth parents this month.
July
We loved July.  We played in the water almost all month.  We went to St. George with grandma Sue and some cousins and DJ was hard to keep out of the water.  He learned that he could jump in from the side and swim back to the edge all by himself over and over again.  We striped down to our undies and played in the sprinklers.  Camping with friends and going canoeing was a hit.  Celebrating Alex's 3rd birthday was so fun by going to Hollywood Connections and then having a party with family.  The Murray parade is always a tradition for us on the 4th of July.  We loved waving to all of the pretty princesses. By the end of July mommy started getting her classroom ready and we were a big help by cleaning and straightening things up.
August
Mommy never wanted August to come because she had to go back to work, but we were excited because we were able to start preschool.  We are learning so much!  We had a couple of family outings, our favorites were going up to one of our condos in Wolf Creek and having a fun all day adventure at Snowbird.  Daddy really got into golfing this summer and took us golfing a couple of times, we even have our own small set of clubs now.  We went swimming, of course, with some good friends!  We played at the park and in our yard.  We were super excited because we are finally tall enough to ride the Ferris wheel at Scheels.  A cousin got married and DJ was a little charmer.  He wanted to kiss all the pretty girls hands and dance with them.
September
We got school pictures in September.  We look so big, it's crazy!  Daddy surprised us with a trip to the circus when it came to town.  We also went to a Utah football game with mommy and daddy, go Utes!  We had some one on one dates with mommy and daddy which was really fun to have all of their attention.  Of course we had to go to the fair while it was in town.  We loved seeing all of the animals and even went on the giant yellow slide.  The annual Bailey family reunion was so fun to go to up north.  Mommy did something she has been wanting to do for awhile, she got her motorcycle endorsement and got her own motorcycle.
October
The days started turning cooler, but that didn't stop us!  We went on a hike up in the mountains as a family, it had just snowed but we still had a fun time.  We visited the Hogle Zoo and saw the witches at Gardner's Village.  Another fun tradition we started was going up Black Hills Farm and picking out our own pumpkins and playing on all of the fun slides.  We spent one morning over at great grandma Alice's house getting her yard ready for the winter. Mommy and Daddy took a couple of days and spent the day riding motorcycles so mommy felt more comfortable to take her test on her bigger bike.  Another Utah game was fun for our family.  We played at a bounce house for one of our friend's birthdays.  Carving pumpkins was a blast too.
November
Brrr, it got cold outside so we moved some of our fun to inside activities.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have so much to be thankful for.  On Thanksgiving we were able to skype with mama Ashley and Derek again.  On a couple of the warmer days we did try to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather by going to the park and the dinosaur museum.  We did have the first huge snowstorm of the season and DJ loved helping daddy shovel.  They did get into a snow fight.  We went up to Hill Air Force base, but want to go again soon because we didn't realize that it was close to closing time and didn't get to spend a lot of time there.  DJ turned 4 years old.  We started another new tradition this year with birthdays, breakfast in bed.  He thought it was so neat that he got to eat in his bed.  Mama Breanna was able to come to DJ's birthday party, which was super special!
December
We couldn't believe how fast December had come around!  Mommy and daddy celebrated their 10 year anniversary (man they are old).  They went to Las Vegas without us, when we found out that's where they were we got so sad, but we did get to spend some fun and quality time with aunt Jessi and her family.  We were so busy with parties this month!  We had a party at aunt Janica's, aunt Dena's, and got to visit with both of DJ's birth parents.  We celebrated Christmas and got a lot of new and fun toys.  On Christmas we were able to skype with Alex's birth mom, and she watched them open all of the presents her and her family sent us.  Making gingerbread men was something we won't forget, especially eating the candy off of them after they were made.  We built ships and had a couple of movie nights in them.
We have such an amazing family and wonderful friends.  We have been so blessed this year and are looking forward to what great adventures await in 2014!

Happy 2014

We went over to our amazing neighbors for New Years Eve.  We didn't have the kids try to make it until midnight so we celebrate Kids New Years.

DJ and mommy with our new years hats on.
2013 has been an amazing year for us and we are super excited to see what is in store for 2014.

Bouncing Along

We went to the bounce house to get some energy out and play with our great friend, Tanner.

DJ getting ready to slide down the biggest slide they have.
DJ and Tanner posed for a picture, but Alex refused to join.
We sure do love bouncing and playing with Tanner!

Christmas Day and Playing

We were so surprised that it was finally Christmas Day.
The boys actually slept in until 8:00, which is unheard of but so nice!
We took a couple of seconds to take some pictures before we opened presents.
Me and my mom (Shai doing a little photo bombing in the back)
Alex playing with his new jet plane at grandma and grandpa's house.
The boys with grandma and grandpa.
Grandpa and DJ made a ramp with some of the presents for his plane to go up.
The boys enjoying some quiet time on daddy's lap.
DJ got a robot boxing game.  I guess Bret and Kurt were 'showing' the boys how it worked.
They did eventually get a turn.
 My sweeties on Christmas Day.
We have had a lot of fun playing with our toys!
We got cool legos that you can make into different cars,
A couple new play doh sets,
some fun board games; chutes and ladders,
 and candyland,
new trucks and lots of Jake and the Neverland Pirate stuff,
 building blocks,
 Don't Break the Ice game,
super heros, and a Monsters Inc playset to just nap a couple of things they got.
Daddy and DJ playing with the lego cars and trucks.
We have had such a wonderful holiday and are so thankful for everyone in our lives! We were so lucky to visit both of DJ's birth parents and skype with Alex's birth mom.  Ultimately they are still our greatest blessing and gift (the birth families and our boys).

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve
 We made some art today.
It was fun making different shapes.
It got a little messy so this is how we cleaned up.
Later DJ wanted to play barber shop and comb my hair.  It was so nice.
For Christmas Eve we always go over to Grandpa Evan and Grandma Sue's house for dinner and some games.  The dinner was delicious and the games were fun, but no pictures.
We always open up pj's that they get to wear to bed.  Alex was so excited when he saw they were Jake and the Neverland Pirate ones, he is obsessed.
DJ got the same pj's and was super excited because how soft they are.
My favorite picture of the night!
The boys put their jammies on and had a little fashion show.
All of the kids in their new jammies. (Plus Shai)
We had a wonderful night full of good food, great fun, and our amazing family.

Sailing Away

The boys saw a commercial where the kids made a boat out of cardboard boxes.  They thought it was a good idea so we gave it a try.
This is what we came up with.
After we gave them a sail and an anchor we decided that we should color and decorate them.
Alex putting star stickers on his boat.
They had lots of fun making them their own boats.
DJ coloring the anchor
After decorating them we got them all loaded with blankets and pillows and went into the front room to watch a show.
We had snacks while we were watching too.
 They loved them.
We kept the boxes for a little over a week and used them a couple of times.  They loved getting all comfy and cozy in them to watch a movie.
