January Family Dinner

It was our turn to host the monthly family dinner.  It always a good time when we get together.
Uncle Kurt and Jax were the first people to come over.
The boys sure love their cousin.
It is a fun time eating and chatting.
Marah and Grandma Sue's birthday just past so they got to open some presents.

Bow Ties

We had a wedding to go to today so I made the boys cute bow ties to wear.  DJ's favorite color is red so he wanted a red one and so of course Alex wanted red too.
I think they turned out so cute!
I love how they like to love on each other sometimes.
We were able to get a picture of everyone.
I am pretty sure they will be getting more bow ties in different colors in the future!

We got to chat with mama Ashley and Derek tonight.
We had a good time playing and talking.
 These boys are little entertainers!
It's nice having open adoptions!

Adoption Lunch

I set up an adoption related lunch today.  I didn't know how it would go over or if anyone would actually show up.  We met at Chick-fil-a and it was super busy, but we found a table big enough for everyone that showed up.  We had so much fun talking and getting to know one another.  It is so good to get together and talk to people in a similar situation.  Six women showed up, all adoptive mamas, and we all had a great time.
I think it is very important to talk about things!  I will definitely set up another get together again!

Party at a Gymnastics Gym

We went to our cousin, Marah's birthday party.  We had so much fun!
DJ walking on a real balance beam.
Jax having some tummy time on the bouncy floor.
DJ jumping down the long trampoline and into a foam pit.
Alex getting ready to jump in with the other kiddos.
 Aunt Janica and Alex playing.
DJ ready to jump off of a wall and onto a big fluffy mat. He's our little dare devil!
Using a climbing rope as a swing.
 Alex showing his balancing skills.

Stitches

Daddy was working in the garage and cut his fingers open so we made a trip to Instacare.
Daddy ended up getting 13 stitches total in his thumb and index finger.
The boys watching daddy redress his cuts.
I love how concerned Alex looks in this picture.  He sure loves his daddy!

A Play Doh Night

Mommy and the boys just playing and being silly.
We have been neglecting our amazing play doh so we got it out tonight.
They played for hours with their fun Tonka toys.
All of these cars do something different and fun with the play doh.
They are finally getting strong enough to push down the toys that squeeze the play doh through to make cool shapes.
We sure love play doh!

On the Mic with DJ

This boy LOVES to sing and dance. When he hears a song he likes he immediately says, "I want this song" and then he figures out some of the words and dances the whole song.  What a silly little boy!

Playing and Cooking up a Storm

We came home today and wanted to play with the army men and Lincoln logs. Mommy built a house for us and we got on with the playing!
We did really good sharing the house (which usually isn't the case)
We played good guys and bad guys with them.

I had his first experience cracking an egg tonight.  I sure love to help cook!
I did really well and only got a few small shells in the mixture.

Visiting Up North

Daddy and DJ went up north because Grandma Laura was in town (Spencer's mom).  Mommy stayed home with Alex because he had been sick all weekend.
DJ has such a huge heart and loves everyone, it doesn't matter how long it has been between visits.
DJ and Laura had a blast taking pictures and making funny faces with each other.
What more could a kids ask for, than making silly faces at himself?
Laura and DJ spent some time drawing and coloring together.
This boy loves to build and daddy helped out.
A little engineer!
He had such a great time playing.
We are so happy that we have an open adoption with our boy's families.  They have so many people that love them!

Making Pizza

We went to the store tonight and the boys saw pizza lunchables and asked if they could have them.  Of course I said yes, hello super easy meal that I don't make, they do!
The boys loved making their own little pizzas and actually ate them pretty well too (shocker).
When I decided to take a couple of pictures DJ was already finished eating his masterpieces.
Easy prep, easy clean-up, ate them all gone, yep we will be getting these again in the future.

Jax's Sealing Day

My brother and his wonderful wife were able to take their sweet boy, Jax to the temple today to be sealed forever.  It was such a beautiful session and so wonderful seeing them on this special day.
I always take advantage to take pictures of my grandma!  I sure do love this lady and so grateful for her in my life as well as my little boys lives!
Grandma Alice in front of the Jordan River Temple.  This is the temple that my grandpa worked so valiantly to serve the Lord.
What a special day and I am so grateful I was able to take part in this incredible occasion!
