Picnic???

Daddy works a graveyard shift up at Snowbird so on Friday evenings he needs to get lots of rest before he stays up all night working.  I decided to take the boys on a picnic to a park to get out of the house so Daddy could sleep.  We stopped at Subway for a sandwich to share and then headed for a park.  Silly Mommy thinking that the boys would actually eat something with a park right next to them!  They had a lot of fun playing and a little eating was done too.

DJ the Spy

I had the windows opened to let some of the cool air in the house and later I see this.  Apparently DJ is a spy.  He found the binoculars by himself and propped himself up on the windowsill.  Not sure how long he was watching people when I got to him.  What a silly boy!

Powder Mountain Hike

We went on a hike up Powder Mountain.  The leaves were changing colors and gorgeous!
Again, this was during nap time, so during the first part of the hike Alex slept on my shoulder.
Grandpa E, Alex, Grandma Sue, DJ, and Carson by the sign of Lightning Ridge.
We stopped to take a family photo during the hike.
The boys got tired and DJ loved riding on Daddy's shoulders.
Alex took a turn on Daddy's shoulders too.
For being 2 years old DJ hiked quite a bit of the way on his own.
At the top we found a shack.
Another family picture at the top of the mountain.  Grandpa E and us were the only ones to make it the whole way.

We had fun hiking and it was so great seeing all of the beautiful leaves changing color!

Silly String Fight

Grandma Sue brought up silly string so the kids could have a war with them.  They loved it!  Too bad DJ and Alex couldn't quite work them on their own.

Even thought the boys couldn't figure it out by themselves they had a blast!  Thanks Grandma Sue for always thinking of the kids and how they can have fun!

Harvest Moon Festival

We went to the Harvest Moon Festival in Ogden during our weekend get-away.
Unfortunately it was during nap time, so Alex spent most of his time like this.    Super cute, but unable to do all of the fun things there was for kids.
 DJ made a ghost picture.
He picked out a pumpkin and got to draw a face on it.
He kept turning it over and drawing on the bottom so I asked him what he was doing and he told me that he was drawing the feet.
 He painted a pumpkin.
There were lots of toss games.  DJ is pretty good at them for being so young because he loves to throw baseballs all day.
The street was lined with all sorts of horses decorated differently.  This is the first on we saw.

Daddy encouraging DJ to toss the bean bags into the holes.
Daddy and DJ enjoying the day.
They had face painting.  DJ wanted a spider.
 Daddy helped DJ play Plinko.
Alex woke up near the end of our time at the festival.  We posed with Grandma Sue.
 Alex loved all the pumpkins.
Another fun horse.  We had to take a family shot by this one.
There was a man on a corner playing his guitar and singing.  DJ thought it was one of the most interesting things ever. Aunt Shai gave DJ a dollar to put in his guitar box.
Here is DJ watching and listening to the man on the corner.  I am pretty sure he could have stayed all day and listened to his music.
We had a fun time at the festival!
What a great way to spend a day, together with your family.

Legos

Legos were a big hit up at the condo.

Shai and the boys building a tower.
The older boys got into legos too.  Grandpa E started it off by wanting to create a tower that would touch the ceiling.
I think all of the older boys got into this project.  They had to find the parts that were making the tower fall and fix them.

The final product.
Who would have guessed?

Wolf Creek Weekend

We planned a get-a-way a while back with our family.  We decided to go to our timeshare up in Wolf Creek.  We had a blast and the trees were breathtaking.
One morning we saw 4 deer cross the golf course just out our window and head into the bushes.  The kids loved seeing them.  Maddie was the first to spot them and she came running in saying, "live animals, live animals outside."  It was funny, she knew they were real, but didn't know what they were.
DJ played racquetball with daddy.
Jason and all of the boys woke up early Saturday morning and went out golfing.
There is a pond with some gigantic fish in it.  The boys thought it was fun watching them.
They have a beach volleyball court and the boys loved playing in the sand.
Grandma created a scavenger hunt for the kids and they got cool light sticks that they had fun with.
While DJ and Daddy were at the racquetball court, Alex and Mommy went swimming.
This little boy LOVES to splash!
 And he splashed a lot!
We had so much fun with our family!  It was nice to get away for a weekend and have some fun and make memories!
