Batters Up

DJ has LOVED every second of his T-Ball games!
The coach changed it up a little and threw 3 pitches and if they didn't hit one then they would pull out the tee.  DJ was up twice and hit one pitch and used the tee on the other.
He loved running after the ball and throwing it to first base.
 What a little stud muffin!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears

Mommy took her last 2 vacation days for the year and spent some time with us going to some fun places before they get super busy when school gets out.
Our first stop was the zoo.
It was so neat seeing the new lion exhibit!  The lion would pace back and forth and then go sit for awhile and pace again.  DJ was a little nervous the first time she got close to the window.
What is it about boys and the stinky reptile house?!? Both boys love seeing the snakes and say that is their favorite part.
When we got back to the tigers they were all sleeping, so we decided to ride on the pretend ones instead.
We love to see the seals!
It was fun to play in the splash area for the first time.
There are little pools of water for the kids to play in and then every minute or so it erupts with a bigger blast of water.
Alex had a blast covering the water like the bigger kids and running away.
DJ has always hated splash pads because he doesn't like the water hitting him, but today he got brave and ran through.
We ended the day with ice cream cones.
I am so excited for summer and for our fun adventures coming up!

When Daddy is Gone

Daddy went on a business trip for most of this week so we decided to have some fun!
We had a picnic on our front lawn.
After the picnic the boys only wanted to ride the rest of the night.
They are really great at riding!
Oh man look at this cute little guy.
 Another silly face.
The best part of the night was all of the high fives and bones the boys gave each other while they were riding.  I love that they are best friends.
We took baths and just had so much fun.
This is how I found the boys sleeping in the morning.
I love how close my boys are!  They truly love each other and I am so grateful for them and what they teach me.

Adoption Day Present

DJ's Adoption Day was yesterday.  Jason and I had bought a present to give the boys on their adoption day.  We have been going back and forth on when to give their presents to them because their special days are pretty close to each other.  We decided to give DJ his present now and let him have his special day and then Alex will have his own special day.
DJ was super excited to get a scooter.
We got the boys all suited up to go try out the fun, new toy.
 He LOVES it!
I love all of the silly faces he makes when riding.
We spent some time riding outside and then headed in for a cool treat.

4th Adoption Day

4 years ago today we went to the court house and finalized DJ's adoption.  What a great day it was!
We like to celebrate adoption days.
When did DJ grow up?!?!  He went from this.....
to this over night!!!

We started the day off doing yard work.  DJ is becoming such a big helper!
My fingers are crossed that they will always want to help with everything like they do now, I know I am wishful thinking.
This is the poop brigade.  They are always super spotters.
 They cleaned my bike.
We went to the store but after a morning of yard work the boys were out!
I loved how DJ fell asleep.
After waking up from a short nap we went into AA Calisters and got the boys real cowboy hats.
We went to a park after the store to get out some energy and just have fun as a family.
Of course DJ jumped on this and thought it was a microphone!  He is a little performer.
 Cheese!
Playing at the park with daddy
Alex and Daddy tried these fun seats that twirl when you sit in them.
DJ loving the slide.
DJ found a girl to help.  It was so cute seeing him softly push her in the seat.
I love seeing how much the boys love their daddy!
After playing at the park we went walking around the park.
They look adorable in their cowboy hats!
We walked to an enormous hill and daddy taught the boys how to roll down it.
We found a picture taking tree.
 They adore their daddy!
There is a baseball field at the park and so of course we had to go over and watch a little baseball.
It was a perfect day!  We didn't do anything super exciting, but spending the day together as a family was the best way to celebrate DJ's adoption day!
